詩仙堂～泊まりたくなるお寺～　＠京都一乗寺　Shisendo-temple

左京区一乗寺、閑静な住宅街に詩仙堂はあります。こちらのお寺、元々は石川丈山の邸宅として使われていたため、住宅街にぽつりとあるのもうなずけます。そんな家としての面影が残る詩仙堂をご紹介します。
The Shisendo-temple locates in a residential area in Ichijoji.
This temple is used to be a Jozan Ishikawa's manshion.
Today's topic is this Shisendo, a temple which was used as a house:)

開放的な伽藍。鳥の声や、住宅街の車の音が入り混じって聞こえます。しかし、ししおどしの「カラン」という音が聞こえると、雑音が止まずとも「静か」になります。
こんな場所で朝を迎えたいですね。
A half-open house. You hear birds singing, cars in the town. But once a Shishiodoshi(water-filled bamboo tube which clacks against a stone when emptied) hits a stone, you feel calm without stopping the noise.
I wish I could get up in this situation in the morning:)

水の流れ、風、ししおどし...躍動がなぜか心を静めます。
Flowing water, wind, Shishiodoshi... Some movements make me "stop"

小ぶりな灯篭。庭の隙間から顔を出します。
A small lantern, appearing out of the bushes.

帰り道に、猫に会いました(^^)
猫の世界でも、美人の振り返る姿はきれいですね。
I encountered a cat on the way back home:)
"A pretty woman" looked back at me...
